MÖNG is a captivating French musical project that blends traditional folk melodies from regions like Mongolia, India, and Iran with contemporary electronic and ambient elements. Led by singer and composer Lily Noroozi, and her collaborator Isao Bredel, their signature sound explores a mesmerising, oneiric sonic world.
The band’s compositions are heavily rooted in world music, drawing inspiration from the nomadic sounds of Mongolia, Scandinavian folk, and Persian traditions. They blend this seamlessly with modern, electronic beats and atmospheric pop. Frontwoman Lily Noroozi writes and sings in a mysterious, invented language that feels as though it belongs to no specific era or place. MÖNG has released several projects, including their celebrated album Finnen, and more recent works like the EP Azel and the single Leïfan. On stage, they often feature a trio setup and collaborate with modern beat makers, creating an immersive, meditative live experience.
MÖNG releases dreamlike, deep, dreamy music. At the crossroads of traditional sounds borrowed from Mongolia, India, Iran, the Nordic countries and more contemporary and electronic colours such as Bjork, Archive and Dead can dance. Their universe is told in a mysterious language that travels to the sandstones of times and worlds.
