Moving on from one of our previous themes – colours, to an artist who featured on ‘Silver’ and who co-incidentally is named after a colour herself, we find ourselves in the company of Ebony Buckle. She is a London-based singer/songwriter, originally from her tropical seaside home of Townsville, Australia. Writing and performing with her husband, musician Nick Burns, who also produces her music.
Buckle uses captivating stories to hold a mirror up to herself and the world. Reflected in these songs is our humanity – our wants and needs, our struggles to fit in or break out. Throughout all of this is the hope that we can connect, that we can see the magnificent beauty of our universe and that we can grow and learn and evolve without fear.
Together they create music in their own way, using the support of Patreon. In 2021, they released their debut album Disco Lasers, and in 2022 they followed that with the release of a covers album called ‘Myths from the Megaverse’. It’s a collection of covers chosen by the top tier members of their Patreon.
Ebony Buckle has applied to the British Government to live in the UK. But, her application was denied. She was not even allowed to enter the UK due to which they got separated for 2 years.
Ebony Buckle is a talented theatre and TV actress. She most recently appeared in Ibsen’s ‘Rosmersholm’, directed by Ian Rickson, at the Duke of York’s Theatre in the West End. Before that she was part of Ivo Van Hove’s Production of Hedda Gabler at The National Theatre.
