Stringspace from Australia, are an interesting attempt to combine a string orchestra and a jazz band, although they can and do operate separately. They were established in 2003 by musician Lucie Miller. Her interest and mission are to provide extremely high quality & vibrant musicians for events. Lucie is from a family of third-generation professional musicians and artists. She has worked at the Sydney Theatre Company and performed regularly with the Australian Opera & Ballet Orchestra.
Lucie has arranged & performed on most string quartet pop songs you can hear on the Stringspace website. She has two violin performance degrees – including a Bachelor of Music (ANU distinction) and a Graduate Diploma from the Sydney Conservatorium (scholarship). During her music degrees, she also attended the Canberra School of Art & the Sydney College of the Arts – majoring in painting. Internationally, Lucie has performed with the Cologne New Philharmonic Orchestra in over 100 concerts throughout France and Germany. She directs, edits and produces all the music film clips at StringspaceLive.
A highlight of 2021 was being contacted by the Netflix TV show Bridgerton. Other highlights have included playing at the CHANEL Australian Ballet Dinner at the Sydney Opera House. tringspace has provided a string quartet for U2 at a World Aids Day event at the Sydney Opera House and performed in front of many of the world’s current Presidents and Prime Ministers.
