The Shallaras

The Shallaras are an energetic duo founded in 2023 by Angela Cory and Mauro Pandolfino. They deliver a raw, rhythmic sound that blends 50s and 60s rock ‘n’ roll with rhythm & blues and garage influences. Embodying the attitude of legends like Chuck Berry and The Cramps, their performance features simultaneous vocals, saxophone, guitar, and drums, creating a high-energy experience designed to get the audience moving.

Angela Cory, born in Sydney, started in Australian punk bands, fronted the rockabilly group The Jukes, and later played with China’s blues/soul band BuZuiBuGui. After five years in China and collaborations with UK DJ Dsk, she moved to Berlin in 2010, exploring punk, rock, and blues. After a break in film and theatre, she returned to Berlin’s blues scene in 2022 (working together with Micha Mass, Jan Hirte, Matthias Falkenau).

Mauro Pandolfino, guitarist and composer from Rome. His eclectic musical tastes span rock, punk, jazz, electronic, noise and experimental genres. Mauro has collaborated with notable artists such as Dave Stewart, Saint Lu, Jesper Munk, Soul Thrivers (Adam Sikora & Dvora Davis), Louey Moss, Big Joe Stolle, Apfeltraum, TB Session Band, while also making waves in the Afro music scene, collaborations with Batila-form experimental music with few albums and singles published.
