Rémi Geffroy

Accordionist and composer Rémi Geffroy is a curious and multifaceted musician. Drawing on diverse influences, he creates his own style, blending traditional, classical, and jazz music. Born in Toulouse in 1987, he was immersed in traditional music throughout his childhood. With a grandfather who played the harmonica and a grandmother who led a folk group in the Aveyron region, he absorbed popular tunes before beginning to study the diatonic accordion at the Cahors conservatory at the age of 10. A few years later, he took up the bass guitar and joined various jazz, pop, and pop-rock cover bands.

After earning a degree in musicology, he began composing on the accordion and released his first album, Entre-deux (2012). He continued his exploration of genre fusion, releasing the EP Parenthèse (2014) in which he played most of the instruments. Two years later, he composed his second album, Du jour au lendemain , and joined the Celtic rock band The Booze Brothers . The band released the album The Lemming Experience (2019), the same year as his album with his trio, Dose de bal .

In 2020, amid the COVID-19 pandemic, Geffroy collaborated with six musicians from diverse backgrounds to create Odysseus, an album released in 2021 that reflects his signature hybridisation of musical traditions. Alongside his recordings, Geffroy has performed extensively across France and Europe, hosting workshops and masterclasses while captivating audiences with his innovative compositions and unique style. From balls to concerts, through the animation of several workshops and workshops, his particular style and original compositions have brought him for some years throughout France and Europe.
