The Doronbo Gang is the main antagonistic group of the anime series Yatterman, and are commonly seen as the mascots for the Time Bokan franchise as a whole.
They are a trio of bumbling supervillains who work under the mysterious Dokurbei. They are comprised of the seductive and fiendish Doronjo and her two subordinates, the scheming gadgeteer genius Boyacky and the dimwitted brute Tonzura. The three were assembled by Dokurobei for the purpose of gathering the four Skull Stones, which Dokurobei states will allow them to find the greatest treasure in the world.
In the 2008 anime, the three were recruited by Dokurobei to steal the five Dokuro Rings, which he told them would grant any wish. The three were recruited by Dokurobei to steal the four Skull Stones. Dokurobei told them that the Skull Stones would lead them to great treasure once they were combined back together, and convinced them to search for them for him. Over the course of the series, Dokurobei would give the Doronbo Gang tips as to where the Skull Stones were that would frequently turn out to be faulty, and lead to the Doronbo Gang getting defeated and humiliated by Yatterman-1 and 2. Despite this, the three would be zapped by Dokurobei whenever they questioned or complained about his directions.
In the final episode, the Doronbo Gang succeed in gathering all four Skull Stones, only for it to turn out that Dokurobei lied and the Skull Stones were really his true form. After the four Skull Stones merged back together to form Dokurobei’s body and Dokurobei left the Earth, the three remaining members of the Doronbo Gang decide to leave their life of crime and give each other tearful goodbyes before all going their separate paths. It is shown that after they parted ways, Doronjo became a housewife and the mother of five kids, Boyacky opened up his own ramen noodle stand, and Tonzura became a manager at a business.
Years after the conclusion of Yatterman’s battles against the Doronbo Gang, the Earth was taken over by a tyrant calling himself “Lord Yatterman” and claiming to be the descendant of the original Yatterman. In response, a descendant of Doronjo formed a new Doronbo Gang with the descendants of Boyacky and Tonzura to combat the oppressive Yatter Kingdom regime that Lord Yatterman had established.
