Zaho de Sagazan was born in December 1999 in Saint Nazaire. Daughter of the painter, sculptor and performer Olivier de Sagazan and a teacher mother, Gaelle, she has older sisters and a twin and she is the cousin of the director Lorraine de Sagazan. During her childhood in Saint Nazaire, she practiced dancing intensively, up to seven hours a week. She was a student at the Aristide-Briand high school and obtained a baccalaureate in the scientific section. She went to Nantes to study business and administration management, worked for a year as a care assistant in a nursing home, then started singing.
She started posting videos of on Instagram in 2015, many covers and some original compositions. In 2016, for her first stage, she performed The Good Star of -M- at the Simone Veil theatre in Saint-Nazaire during the Concert Salad “Irreducibles” at her high school, which she left in 2019.
From 2019, she participated in numerous festivals, Spring of Burgundies, Fourviere nights, Francofolies de La Rochelle, VIP and Stopovers of Saint-Nazaire, Rock in Seine, Rockomotives de Vendôme. In September 2021, Zaho was on the stage of the Vendanges musicales in Charnay in Beaujolais. In 2021, she played with Mansfield TYA at the Trianon, and opened for Herve at the Olympia. The song Sufficiently gets her noticed. In residence at the Trans Muiscales from Rennes in 2022, the author-composer-pianist and performer performs on the Aire Libre stage during the five evenings of the festival.
In March 2023, Sagazan released her first album, The Symphony of Lightning , on Virgin Records A few singles preceded him, and his first appearances on stage and media coverage allowed him to gain notoriety. In a few months, she went from almost unknown to the new hope of French song. The album was certified gold in December 2023 after reaching the threshold of 50,000 copies sold. On stage she is accompanied by Tom Geffray, multi-instrumentalist, and musicians from the Inuit group (Alexis Delong and Pierre Cheguillaume).
In January 2024, she was nominated for the Music Moves Talent Awards. Shortly after, with five nominations at the 39th Music ceremony , she won the prizes for best original song, best album, stage revelation and female revelation. Zaho de Sagazan is hypersensitive, a subject mentioned in the song La symphonie des éclairs. At the 39th Victoires de la Musique ceremony, when she won the prize for best original song, she said on this subject: “One day I discovered music, and I realized that by crying over my piano did me a lot of good, it didn’t hurt anyone and above all it gave pretty songs. I realized that what I thought was my greatest flaw in life was ultimately my greatest quality (…) To be sensitive is to be alive, and we are never too alive”.
