Guzheng player Moyun (@墨韵 Moyun Official) is famous for her pop song covers on Bilibili, China’s version of Youtube. Her videos have received millions of views since her first upload in 2014, a cover of the hit Japanese song “Senbonzakura.”
墨韵Moyun (also called “墨韵随步摇“) is a music creator who is producing Chinese Zither (Guzheng) cover. She is very mysterious since she never shows her face in any of her videos. She has attracted a large number of followers by her talent and ability.
Unlike some performers, Moyun uses a backing track for many of her covers of more modern music, and her cover of The Eagles’ “Hotel California” is no exception. However, this time she is doing the looping herself, seemingly live. She takes her cues entirely from the live version from the Eagles’ reunion album, even replicating that version’s percussion with her live looping, and the introductory guitar. The looping let’s Moyun replicate all the parts, allowing her to play the vocal line on the guzheng while the rhythm parts continue.

Angus Young’s fiddly intro and the main riff to ‘Thunderstruck’ get an unusual rework from Hong-Kong-based Youtuber ‘Moyun’ plays the iconic song on the guzheng – a traditional Chinese instrument.
