As you might expect the only way to follow a series of posts about sheep is with something featuring goats.
“The Lonely Goatherd” is a popular show tune from the 1959 Rodger and Hammerstein musical The Sound of Music. “Goat Annie” is a song taken from ‘One to One‘ the 12th album by American singer-songwriter Carole King, released in 1982. It is also the name of the accompanying concert video, currently available only on VHS and Laser Disc. ‘One to One’ the video contains on-camera comments by Carole King as well as live performances from ‘One to One’ the studio album, and some of her best-known songs from previous LP’s. This upbeat song describes the life of a goat-loving neighbour she had named Annie. Despite the rumours of Annie’s preference for goats over humans, the narrator finds Annie to be a great person.
