Breathless” is a song by Irish group the Corrs. It was released in June 2000 as the first single from their third studio album, In Blue (2000). “Breathless” was co-written and produced by famed music producer Robert Lange. “Breathless” is a pop song with lyrics about seduction. “Breathless” reached number one in the Czech Republic and the United Kingdom—their only British chart-topper to date. It was the 33rd-highest-selling single in the United Kingdom in 2000. It also reached the top five in Ireland, Italy, New Zealand, Spain, and Sweden, as well as number seven in Australia. In the United States, it peaked at number 34 in March 2001, giving the Corrs their only US top-forty hit. In 2001, the song was nominated for a Grammy Award. In October 2011, NME placed it at number 141 on its list “150 Best Tracks of the Past 15 Years”. The magazine also ranked it at number 347 on their list of “The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time”.

Maps” is a song by American band Yeah Yeah Yeahs from their debut full-length album, Fever to Tell (2003). The song is about the relationship between Liars frontman Angus Andrew and Yeah Yeah Yeahs lead singer Karen O.. It was released 2003. The music video received extensive play on MTV. It reached number nine on Billboard’s Alternative Songs chart and was included in the popular video game Rock Band. The video shows the band playing in an audition in a high school gymnasium, with different light filters changing the color of the room. Karen O’s crying in the video was not staged. She explains: “They were real tears. My boyfriend at the time was supposed to come to the shoot – he was three hours late and I was just about to leave for tour. I didn’t think he was even going to come and this was the song that was written for him. He eventually showed up and I got myself in a real emotional state.”

Day & Night” is a song by English singer turned actress Billie Piperr. The song was written by Piper, Eliot Kennedy, Mark Cawley, Mike Percy and Tim Lever for Piper’s second album Walk of Life (2000). It was released as the album’s lead single in May 2000 to positive reviews from music critics. It was a commercial success, reaching number one in the United Kingdom. According to Piper’s autobiography and various sources, the single sold over a quarter of a million copies in the United Kingdom alone. he song received positive reviews from music critics. Yahoo! reviewer Jackie Flynn wrote that the song was a “slick piece of dominatrix dance” with “big buffed chords and spike-heel beats”. Peter Robinson of NME described “Day & Night” as “exciting” and the magazine wrote that the song was “somewhat harder and American sounding” than her previous singles.

Don’t Call Me Baby” is a song by Australian duo Madison Avenue, taken as the first single from their only studio album, The Polyester Embassy (2000). Written by Cheyne Coates, Andy Van Dorsselaer, Duane Morrison, and Giuseppe Chierchia, the song includes a bassline sample from “Ma Quale Idea” by Italo disco artist Pino D’Angio which in turn is based on “Aint No Stopping’ Us Now” by McFadden & Whitehead. “Don’t Call Me Baby” was released in Australia on 18 October 1999 and spent six non-consecutive weeks at number two on the ARIA, achieving triple-platinum status. It was also successful internationally, reaching number one in New Zealand and the United Kingdom in 2000.
