Every now and then the internet rewards your hours of browsing with a little gem. Today I am delighted to share with you the unconsidered trifle that is Dodie Clark. She is an English singer-songwriter, author, and YouTuber from Epping, who is known for her light melodies juxtaposed by emotionally complex lyrics. Clark began her career performing piano and ukulele covers and has since shifted to her own original songs. According to Wikipedia, she has over 160 videos, over 1.9M subscribers, and over 300 million views on her main channel (as of February 2020).
I thought her quirky songs were just the thing for a Friday. Here she is with her one-time paramour Jon Cozart in thw wonderfully titled ‘An Awkward Duet’
In September 2018, Dodie announced her third EP, entitled ‘Human’ which came out in January 2019, with the title track being the lead single released in September. The EP rose to number 5 on the official UK Albums Chart. Here is the title track from the album.
