Karen Brunon is a French classical violinist and singer originally from Puy-en-Velay where her parents ran a music store. Until the age of 11, she studied violin at the Conservatoire du Puy. She entered the Conservatoire de Paris at the age of 16. She began working with Michel Legrand in 1996.
In 1998, she distinguished herself alongside Keren Ann and Xavier Druot in the group Shelby and their title 1+1, co-written by Keren Ann and Benjamin Biolay. In addition to these two artists, she has worked with, among others, Laurent Voulzy, Julien Clerc (she is his first violin ), Étienne Daho, Vanessa Paradis, Mika, Raphael, Charles Aznavour and Brian Wilson.
Since 2012, she has been taking part in the adventure of the Circus group with Calogero, Philippe Uminski, Elsa Fournon and Stanislas. Karen Brunon made her debut as a monkey.
In November 2014, she released her first solo album La fille idéal produced by Benjamin Biolay, a childhood friend, with the collaboration of Élodie Frégé. From August 2015, she accompanies the musicians of the TV game show Don’t forget the lyrics! She leaves the show (broadcast day:May 29, 2018) for the release of her new album and the tour to follow which begins in Japan. Since this date, Karen Khochafian, who had already replaced her previously, has succeeded her definitively.
In 2020, she tried her hand at comedy and got a small role in the soap opera Tomorrow Belongs to Us , broadcast daily on TF1. From 2023 to 2024, she was part of the orchestra which accompanied the tour ” Dans mes cordes ” by the singer Renaud.
