Ygdrassil consist here of Linde Nijland, Annemarieke Coenders and Bert Ridderbos. Linde started performing and recording at a young age with harmony singing duo Ygdrassil. Annemarieke Coenders is a Dutch singer-songwriter from Groningen. Following Ygdrassil’s demise in 2008 she has been active as solo singer. They performed at big festivals like Noorderslag, Lowlands, Folkwoods and Oerol. Ygdrassil recorded 5 albums and one DVD and are still loved for their unrivalled harmony singing.Ygdrassil is the name of the world dragon from Norse mythology.

Linde Nijland and Annemarieke Coenders sing the traditional ‘Cruel Sister’ a-capella at the Folkwoods Festival 2006, Eindhoven (The Netherlands). In earlier days also performed by the British folkrock group Pentangle. Linde and Annemarieke sing their ‘signature song’ ‘Water’ (written by Linde).
