Skameleon originate from the city of Herborn in Hesse, Germany. The cheerfully skanking, eight-piece ska cover combo skameleon is a guarantee of a good mood for every event. skameleon rework world hits into Ska with impunity and thus make the rather unknown music genre socially acceptable.
Under the motto “ SKA MAKES EVERYTHING BETTER ”, well-known one-hit wonders are covered in ska just as idiosyncratically as rock ballads from the 90s, well-known film melodies, or songs from the Neue Deutsche Welle. skameleon are unpretentious, authentic and manage to captivate every audience with their energetic enthusiasm.
The skameleon SKA interpretations of ‘What is Love’ (Haddaway) and ‘Wonderwall’ (Oasis) have several million views on YouTube . This makes skameleon one of the most successful SKA cover bands in the world .
The band’s live resume includes over 200 performances at small, private parties, club gigs and large festivals all over Germany – from Berlin to Weil am Rhein, from Homburg an der Saar to Chemnitz. Appearances in Holland, Switzerland and Italy (EXPO Milano 2015) crown the band’s 15-year history .
In 2013, the debut album “ Humba Humba offenderä ” was released with a total of 10 songs. Among other things, this CD features the skameleon classics “ What is Love ” (Haddaway), “ Wannabe ” (Spice Girls) and “ All that she wants ” (Ace of Base). The second SKA cover CD “ Ska Makes Everything Better ” followed in 2018 with a total of 11 tracks and cover versions of “ Wonderwall ” (Oasis), “ Coco Jambo ” (Mr. President), “ Everybody ” (Backstreet Boys) and “ Sweet Dreams ” (Eurythmics). The skameleon EP “Undercover” was released in 2022 with interpretations by Modern Talking, Apache 207, Papa Roach and SNAP!. In 2024, skameleon will release the song “Dance with Somebody” (Mando Diao).
